Our co-founder, at the tender age of 17, took a path less travelled.
Fueled by a thirst for knowledge and a yearning for a new experience, she secured a scholarship to study in China.
Excited and brimming with anticipation, she enlisted the help of an agency to navigate the complexities of visas, housing, and settling into a new life abroad.
What unfolded was a nightmare.
The agency, more concerned with profits than students, left her stranded in the heart of Beijing.
Alone, with no knowledge of English or Mandarin, she found herself lost in a sea of unfamiliar faces and a culture she barely understood.
The dream quickly turned into a harrowing ordeal, a trauma that would forever alter her course.
But from the ashes of this experience, a phoenix rose.
The trauma ignited a fire within her—a fire fueled by a burning desire to ensure no student would ever face the horror she endured.
This vision, this fervent mission to empower students with the support they deserve, was the missing piece.
Then, fate intervened. Our other co-founder, also drawn to the mystique of China, found himself in a similar predicament.
Lost and disillusioned by the lack of genuine guidance, their paths crossed.
Together, they discovered a shared purpose—a yearning to help others “find themselves” in China, not just geographically, but personally and academically.
Foorsa, the Arabic word for “opportunity,” was born from this shared vision. What began as a two-person mission has blossomed into a thriving company with over 30 dedicated employees spread across 3 offices.
We remain steadfast in our commitment – to provide exceptional service, to guide and support students every step of the way, and to ensure their journey in China is one of empowerment, discovery, and fulfilment.
